"Dissuading Deer from Your Garden" was presented by David Onn who holds Certificates of Ornamental Horticulture I and II from Longwood Gardens, PA. He had been a docent at Mt. Cuba Center for Native Plants of the Southeast Piedmont for 5 years, and is retired from University of Delaware.
Attendees learned how deer communicate by scent and how keeping deer away from your plants depends on masking the scents that they leave behind. Deer herds regularly invaded David's gardens near Newark, DE but over the past two years only two have visited his garden. The presentation was followed by a welcome by the White Clay Wild & Scenic Porgram and very brief annual business meeting of the White Clay Watershed Association.
When: Wednesday, October 20th at 7pm
