White Clay Creek Wild & Scenic Program Volunteer Opportunities

There are many ways to get involved with the White Clay Creek Wild & Scenic River Program! Here are a few current opportunities:

White Clay Creek Reforestation Plan

Currently, efforts are being made to reforest the White Clay Creek watershed to improve the quality of the water and land within the watershed.

On Saturday, March 6, 2010, there is a reforestation workshop "Reforesting the Watershed, One Township at a Time" to familiarize residents and officials of London Grove and Franklin Townships with the White Clay Creek Reforestation Plan and to explain the current tree planting projects envisioned for their community and how they can become involved. For more information, click here.

Volunteers are needed for the Goodwin Preserve Reforestation tree planting on March 20, 2010. Your volunteer efforts will make for a greener community and help restore a portion of the Middle Branch of the White Clay Creek. The goal of planting is to plant 2,450 trees within 100 feet of either side of the White Clay Creek. For more information, click here. To sign up, email volunteer@franklintownship.us or call (610)255-5212.

There are many more ways to volunteer and assist with the reforestation of the White Clay Creek. To read more about reforestation and ways you can help, visit "Reforesting the White Clay Watershed: Volunteer Opportunities."
