Residents and officials became acquainted with the White Clay Creek Reforestation Plan, a vision for increasing tree cover to better clean our water, reduce flooding, beautify our surroundings, create wildlife habitat, and help maintain our temperate climate.
Attendees learned about major tree planting projects envisioned or planned for their community and how they can become involved. Everyone received printed information on the role of trees in protecting our Wild and Scenic Watershed and tree planting and maintenance guidelines. The workshop concluded with a demonstration tree planting.
Refreshments for all and the first 50 residences to register received a free potted native tree to plant in their yard!
